PHOTON ATTACK

Game Summary

Photon Attack is a top-down space-themed 2D Shooter.

Blast off against photonic beings from another dimension that have come to steal Earths most vital source of light, the Sun itself!

Controls

• Arrow Keys or WASD to move up, left, down and right respectively.
• Spacebar to shoot at incoming enemies.
• Hit ESC to quit or close browser window.

Project Summary

This was a tutorial project I played around with, where I wanted to do my best to touch up the visuals and aesthetic as much as I could, without overly worrying about the gameplay aspect, and getting use to animation system in Godot and using spriteframes. I like games with a more retro looking or pixelated aesthetic and want to try and use more visuals like it in future projects.

I want to make more projects like this , for games with more complex mechanics.

The game will technically run forever until you lose all your lives, though the enemies don't get any more difficult.  And it's free so enjoy!

Assets Used

• Images were generated using free generators by  Deep-Fold.io
• Ambient music for start menu and main game scene are from a free pack made by null lofi
• This game was built using Godot 4.3
• Explosion and Shooting effects are from a tutorial pack from GameDev.tv.
